Jesse C. Rathgeber is a Ph.D. student at Arizona State University where he also teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses on music education, elementary general music, music and disability, and music in childhood. Rathgeber’s research interests include disability, inclusion, and critical pedagogy. He is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences throughout the United States. He is also a co-author of the book Accessing Music.

Before Arizona State University, Rathgeber taught early childhood through fifth grade general music in a suburban community of Chicago, Illinois. He also taught kindergarten through 12th grade music in a rural community in downstate Illinois. Rathgeber earned a Bachelor of Music Education with a specialization in elementary/general music at the University of Illinois, Urbana, IL. He earned a Master of Music in music education with a specialization in composition/creativity from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
