Many researchers have explored creativity as a process in secondary and university settings, but little research has been done on this process in the elementary music classroom setting. Even less research has been conducted that focuses on music students utilizing tablet devices as their primary instrument for the creative process. Over the months of April and May, I researched the creative music process of fifth grade students using GarageBand on iPads. Attendees will participate in creative music making using GarageBand on iPads in an elementary classroom setting. A short presentation will also be shown demonstrating both the process and the culminating project by some of the students who took part in the research.
